West Midlands-born and London-based electronic duo Delmer Darion (comprising Oliver Jack and Tom Lenton) released their debut album 'Morning Pageants' at the end of last year to critical acclaim via Practise Music. They are now excited to release a mesmeric remix of 'Lacuna' by influential Canadian multi-instrumentalist and composer Joseph Shabason (Destroyer, DIANA).

Joseph Shabason says of the remix: “I just wanted for it to be as fucked as possible. I listened to the original once and then just dug into the stems and tried to make something that felt vital and new. With remixes I like to try and go in blind as much as possible so that I’m not trying to recreate or draw too much from the original (which already sounded wicked). The end result is this wonderful little gronker that felt connected to Delmer Darion’s music but also feels like it’s from a completely different world.”

Delmer Darion add: “We love how far Joseph’s remix reimagines “Lacuna” while still preserving the same mood and atmosphere. Morning Pageants is a very narrative album, in which each track has a clearly defined job to do to serve the overarching journey. We knew what the characteristics of all 10 tracks needed to be before we wrote any of them. With his remix, Joseph has created something which could slot straight into the album and conjure the same moment we were trying to create, yet which is also really quite far from the original. It’s an incredible creative take on our version and we’re very grateful to him for spending some time with it.”
